Moli applies repeatable, rules-based quality control and data processing following the lidar manufacturers’ guidelines.
Add confidence to your data by documenting what’s going on in your campaign.
Wind lidar are great, but you need to click through 100s of files and spend time each day checking the data to get the best quality data for your wind farm. Then you need to talk to colleagues, prepare reports, and make sure your customers are happy. That’s a lot of work!
We’ve got the solution to make your life easier. Scroll down to find out more.
Working with wind lidar means managing lots of data files and checking 144 wind profiles every day.
Our tool simplifies all of that.
Set up your lidar to email us your data, or send it by FTP. Drag and drop missing data later in the app.
We’ll process the lidar data according to industry best practice and check it for you.
Sleep better knowing that the app will email you if data are missing or data availability drops.

We’ve put the answers to common questions below.
Please contact us for any other questions.
Wind lidar is a way to measure wind speed and direction using a laser. It can be used to probe the wind at distances up to several kilometres away from a base station. Wind lidar can be configured to measure wind speed and direction at multiple heights; this is known as a vertical wind profiler.
Wind lidar makes it easy to measure wind speed and direction from near the ground to well above the upper tip of a modern wind turbine.
It is therefore frequently used for wind resource assessment campaigns in the planning phase of wind farms.
enerlace is a startup from the University of Stuttgart in Germany. The team is a combination of lidar geeks and software developers. We’ve been working in wind lidar since 2007 and developing software since 2009.

The app helps wind energy professionals be more effective. It:
Moli automatically processes lidar data that it receives either via upload, email or sftp from your lidar. It then offers the following features:
The wind lidar usually measure the wind continuously and then calculate a 10-minute average wind speed and direction. Those data are uploaded by the wind lidar to our systems usually once every day. We update the data as soon as we have it.
It takes us a few seconds to process data when we receive it.
Moli requires a browser and an internet connection. We’ve tested it on all the major browsers (Edge, Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and all the major operating systems (Windows, macOS, and Linux) and it works perfectly across all combinations.
Yes. We take your data security very seriously and have implemented (at least) industry standard security measures to protect it. Please check out our data protection policy to find out more.
Yes. You can choose the date period you are looking at, and the height that you choose as a reference. You can also zoom and pan most of the charts.
We take all of the data “as is” from the wind lidar. We apply the same quality control and filtering as the lidar. That means that the data provided through the app, is as accurate as the data provided by the lidar.
Yes. You can download the files that you sent us, and you can download a summary report as well.
Not yet. We’re looking into making a mobile version for some parts of the app, but that will come later.
You’ll be in direct contact with one of the enerlace team for your onboarding and support, so you can contact them directly by mail, phone, or chat.
You can also email us at support@enerlace.de, or raise a support ticket at our self-service portal. There are links to all of these options in the app.
We bill for each measurement campaign that you are monitoring through Moli. Each campaign costs about the equivalent of 90 minutes of a wind expert’s time in western Europe or North America, per month.
